Kelly’s journey to founding Daily Orders began, like many great ideas, out of sheer necessity. As a mother, Kelly was no stranger to the daily juggle of family life. With 2 kids, a FIFO husband and a never-ending list of to-dos, she found herself constantly battling the chaos that comes with managing a busy household. But it was one particular day, a day that started with a forgotten appointment and ended with a missed school event, that the idea for Daily Orders was born.
The Breaking Point
It was an ordinary morning that spiralled into disaster. Kelly woke up to find herself already behind schedule—again. The big kid was scrambling to get ready for kinder, the baby was crying, and somewhere in the mix, she realised she’d completely forgotten about an important doctor’s appointment. By the time the day ended with a missed school concert that her eldest had been looking forward to for weeks, Kelly was at her wit’s end.
She sat down that evening, exhausted and overwhelmed, and started thinking about how she could prevent days like this from happening again. She knew she needed a system, something more than just the calendar on her phone or the scraps of paper littered across the kitchen counter. She needed a way to organise her family’s life in a way that was clear, accessible, and could keep everyone on the same page.
The Lightbulb Moment
That night, Kelly started sketching out ideas. She envisioned a planner that would hang on the wall, big enough for everyone to see and simple enough for the whole family to use. It needed to be durable to withstand the wear and tear of daily life and flexible enough to adapt to the ever-changing schedules of a busy family. She wanted something that wasn’t just functional but also stylish, something that would fit into the decor of any home.
Kelly’s initial sketches were rough, but the idea was there: a wall planner that could help her, and other families like hers, bring some order to their chaotic lives.
From Idea to Reality
With her vision in mind, Kelly began researching materials and designs. She experimented with different layouts, considering what would work best for busy parents who needed to keep track of multiple schedules. After much trial and error, she landed on the perfect combination: a large acrylic planner that was easy to clean, looked great on the wall, and, most importantly, helped her stay on top of her family’s hectic monthly schedule.
Encouraged by how well the planner was working for her own family, Kelly started to think about how it could help others. She knew she wasn’t the only parent struggling to manage the chaos of daily life, and she wanted to share her solution with the world.
Launching Daily Orders
With a small batch of planners and a lot of determination, Kelly launched Daily Orders from her spare room. She started by selling to friends and family, but word quickly spread. Other parents loved the simplicity and effectiveness of the planners, and soon, demand began to grow. Kelly’s little side project turned into a full-fledged business as orders started coming in from all over.
Daily Orders wasn’t just about selling products—it was about helping families regain control of their time and reduce the stress that comes with managing a busy household. Kelly’s passion for making life easier for parents resonated with customers, and her business began to thrive.
Growing the Dream
As Daily Orders grew, so did Kelly’s vision. She expanded the range of products to include different sizes and designs of planners, catering to families with different needs. She introduced new organisational tools, each one designed with the same focus on functionality and style that had made her original planner so popular.
But no matter how much the business expanded, Kelly never lost sight of why she started Daily Orders in the first place: to help parents like herself find a little more peace and order in their lives. She continued to innovate, always thinking about how she could make life easier for her customers, and in doing so, became a Registered NDIS Provider, supplying thousands of planners to NDIS participants.
A Community of Organised Families
Today, Daily Orders is more than just a business—it’s a community of families who share Kelly’s commitment to staying organised and making the most of their time together. Kelly’s story is a testament to the power of turning frustration into inspiration and the impact that a simple idea can have when it’s born out of genuine need.
Through Daily Orders, Kelly has helped thousands of families bring order to their daily lives, proving that even in the busiest households, a little organisation can go a long way. Her journey from overwhelmed mum to successful entrepreneur is a reminder that sometimes, the best solutions are the ones we create for ourselves.
